If you're interested in learning about brewing all of the different styles of beer, my friend Jon Plise and I have an Internet broadcast/podcast show on The Brewing Network called The Jamil Show (even though I wanted to call it Brewing with Style). In each episode we discuss a style from the BJCP Style Guidelines, including an award winning recipe and tips for brewing a great example of the style. We covered all of the BJCP styles and a few more at the time. There are archives of the shows available as downloads in MP3 format or you can subscribe via RSS (http://www.thebrewingnetwork.com/jamilshow.xml) or through iTunes, all for free.
If you're interested in learning more about brewing from the technical to the simple, this show has spanned over 15 years of shows and is still going today. We do approximately two shows every month and cover a variety of topics, including answering your questions live.
This show was extremely popular, but was a hard one to produce. The premse of the show was to clone your favorite commercial beers. Listeners would request a beer and we would interview the brewer for the recipe and tips on brewing it. After brewing the recipe ourselves, we would do a blind tasting to see if it was cloned or not. Lots of fun and great recipes.
Magazine
I wrote the Style Profile column in each issue of Brew Your Own magazine for approximately nine years. In each issue I covered all the aspects of brewing the style, including recipes. I think BYO is a great magazine for brewers of all levels. If you're not a subscriber, click here to get yourself a free issue of the magazine. BYO gives me half of your subscription price if you decide to subscribe, so if you want to help support my efforts this is a good way. Thank you.
